I'm Shanell Lamere, the heart and lens behind Shanell Lamere Films. I'm a Pittsburgh-based filmmaker, creative director, and mother of two, with a deep passion for amplifying the stories of Black women, families, and community leaders through intentional and heartfelt visuals.
With a background in psychology and sociology, my approach to filmmaking is grounded in understanding people, their emotions, and the environments that shape them. I’ve worked in mental health, community spaces, and creative media—all of which have guided me to this work: helping people feel seen, heard, and valued through storytelling.
